Stepping Stones Treatment and Recovery Center receives check

from Witches Night Out for $6,000!

JOLIET — A scream pierced the darkness Thursday night in downtown Joliet. It was followed by several cackles as more than 1,000 area women dusted off their brooms and found their inner witch for the second annual Witches’ Night Out at the Joliet Renaissance Center.

And they were a raucous bunch.

No, it wasn’t Salem. And while there were plenty of witch hunts, it was all in good fun — and for charity.

The Witches Night Out 2011 net proceeds will give $18,000 to three United Way Social Services Agencies; each will receive a check for $6,000!
We would not have achieved this amount had it not been for all our sponsors and especially two sponsors that pledged over three thousand dollars within 24 hours following the event.  One of these donors has asked to remain anonymous and the other will be announced as a platinum sponsor in the future on this website.  All we can report right now is that the platinum donor is a business that has four locations in Will County and we look forward to a bright future with this donor!
 
We think about 850 attended; that is about how many ticket stubs were in the door prize drawing.
